Alas, they neither put up nor shut up

It's amazing how some political writers who try to compete with this newspaper manage to get a job in journalism -- anywhere. When the R-J and Channel 8 commissions a political poll, they predictably grouse about stuff they know little about (like methodology) and then try to knock down the results they (or their bosses) personally don't like. This is followed by furious "analysis" about the R-J/Channel 8 poll for days as if they previously didn't say anything about questioning the validity of the polls.
Then, when their alleged "analysis" is mercifully at an end, they write about how they've talked to many "insiders" who say the R-J/8 poll is skewed one way or another.
Of course, the "insiders" are never named and their polls are never divulged.
It's tempting to suggest these silly pundits "put up or shut up." But they never do either. Ain't America great.
In the meanwhile, if you want nonpartisan polling with honest analysis, stay tuned to the Review-Journal and Channel 8. It's almost September and that means we're just getting into the interesting part of the political season.
