Aliante ‘Bee’ night draws hundreds

A free, big-screen presentation of "Akeelah and the Bee" drew hundreds of area residents and visitors to Aliante's Nature Discovery Park Aug. 11.

The movie presentation was one of many free, family oriented outdoor happenings held in the 20-acre park throughout the year. Upcoming events in 2007 include Day of Discovery, featuring "Nick Live!," a live interactive stage show presented by Nickelodeon; a Big Top Celebration, presenting three shows by the American Crown Circus; and Aliante's Fourth Annual Ice Cream Sunday & Pet Adoption.

The master-planned community's developer North Valley Enterprises LLC, an affiliate of American Nevada Co., and the city of North Las Vegas Special Events, and Parks & Recreation Departments cosponsor outdoor concerts, movies and other programs.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to I-215 and exit east. Make a right onto Sky Pointe Drive, a right onto Frontage Road, and then a left onto the Beltway. Head east to the Aliante Parkway exit, then go south.
