Aliante sends movie buffs ‘Over the Hedge’

Aliante's Movie Madness series continues this evening with a free big-screen presentation of "Over the Hedge," an animated movie produced by DreamWorks, which also created the popular "Shrek," "Shrek 2," "Shrek The Third" and "Shark Tale" films.

The movie will begin at dusk and no earlier than 7:30 p.m.

Food and refreshments will be available for sale and preshow entertainment will be provided by "Zaney Lainie" the clown.

Those who attend are welcome to bring chairs, blankets and picnic baskets.

Released in 2006, "Over the Hedge" tells the tale of RJ, a scheming raccoon who fools a mismatched family of forest creatures into helping him pay back a debt of food by invading the suburban neighborhoods that arose while they were hibernating. RJ soon learns his own lessons about family.

Nature Discovery Park is at 2627 Nature Park Drive, near the southeast corner of Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, and Aliante Parkway. To reach the park, take U.S. Highway 95 to Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Boulevard, Exit East. Head east on I-215, exit at Aliante Parkway and proceed south.
