‘Almonds at the snack bar! Almonds at the snack bar!’
If you're into pure, unadulterated political snark, you'll love "The DC Trawler" website by Jim Treacher.
Tuning in this morning, the Complete Las Vegan found a piece on Muslim students beating up Lars Vilks at a speech at a Swedish university yesterday. As Treacher wryly observes: "Those folks aren’t yelling “almonds at the snack bar.” They’re yelling “Allahu Akbar,” which means “God is great.” Yeah, God is never prouder of His creations than when they’re beating somebody up for drawing a cartoon."
Next he turns his attention to Supreme Court nominee Alena Kagan and the elephant in the room -- her sexual orientation. He begins: "There’s nothing wrong with being gay, which is why it’s wrong to ask if somebody’s gay."
He then goes on to, well ...
I think I'll let you just read it for yourself. If your PC radar's super sensitive, you might be better off just viewing the official White House "interview" with Kagan, which was done sans reporter.
You can read about the controversy surrounding the Obama Administration's staged interview with Kagan here on the CBS News website.
You can then read all about Media Matters hammering Fox News on the topic, giving the objective world one more piece in a mountain of evidence that Media Matters is an intellectually criminal outfit that really should be on the Obama White House payroll.
In fact, had the crack Media Matters "reporting" team covered the beating of Lars Vilks, they'd have written a story about how Bush-era policies were at fault for there not being any almonds at the snack bar.
