Angle campaign has six-figure debt but $138,600 cash on hand

Sharron Angle's latest campaign finance report shows she has racked up a six-figure debt, but nonetheless has $138,609 cash on hand to spend.

The Republican U.S. Senate candidate reported raising a total $1.25 million so far, including $298,554 raised in the most recent pre-primary reporting period, April 1 through May 19.

The campaign also reported $1.11 million in operating expenses overall, including $279,928 during the latest period.

Angle also reported $170,618 in debts and obligations owed by the candidate, according to the report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Previously, the FEC had raised questions about how the Angle campaign was accounting for its debt after figures from one quarterly report didn't show up in the next report. The campaign blamed computer software glitches and some accounting errors and worked with federal auditors to correct the mistakes.

Angle is running neck and neck with Sue Lowden in the Republican primary, which is June 8.

Danny Tarkanian remains a top contender for the GOP nomination and the chance to face Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Harry Reid in November.
