Another half-full plane … thanks, Mr. President!

Hopped, skipped and jumped my way back to Las Vegas last night on the Southwest Airlines express.

Little Rock to Houston -- jam-packed with all of my new Southwest friends.

Houston to Austin -- Cheek-to-cheek with more new Southwest friends.

Austin to Las Vegas -- Half full. Half full!

Please see my previous post on this topic. It still remains amazing to me that the president of the United States can say something stupid and hurt a local economy, and the elected representatives who could actually do something about it do precious little to correct the injury. Nothing would say "Las Vegas is OK for business travel" better than for the federal government to schedule a big meeting out here (with the president as the keynote). How about it, Nevada delegation? Do I have to do all your thinking for you? Can't you at least try?

Yes, I'm mad about this. And every time I fly home on a half-full plane, I get madder. Let's not forget that if you or someone you know are out of a job or under-employed in the tourism industry in Las Vegas, at least part of that woe is owed to this.
