Another Reid communications aide departs

The shuffle continues in Sen. Harry Reid's communications "war room" in the U.S. Capitol. Reid announced communications staff director Rodell Mollineau is leaving at the end of the month.
Mollineau, 34, handles the day-to-day operations of the Senate Democratic Communications Center, the team that forms, coordinates and disseminates the party's talking points to varieties of media. The native of Brooklyn, N.Y., joined Reid's staff in 2006, after the Nevadan was elected Senate Majority Leader.
Mollineau's departure comes as the Reid-overseen messaging staff is being merged into the Democratic Policy Committee under the control of Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. Jim Manley, Reid's senior communications adviser, also announced his departure.
Reid was told of Mollineau's decision to leave following the November elections, but the aide stayed on through the lame duck session and to assist in the staff merger, according to Reid's office.
"Over the last four years Rodell’s strategic guidance proved invaluable not just to me, but to the entire Democratic caucus," Reid said in a statement.
Mollineau previously worked for Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., and Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark.
