Are Reid attacks a sign of slipping polls?

In what appears to be a change in style, Sen. Harry Reid today lashed out in person at his GOP opponent, Sharron Angle.

Could be just a change in gears at the Reid camp. But you gotta wonder whether the change is precipitated by polling that shows their horse slipping behind Angle.

After all, the big picture issues in the Nevada Senate race all move against Reid. The economy continues to slump. President Obama's free-fall in the popularity can't help. And, the performance of Congress is held at an all-time low esteem.

When all the Reid money spent so far can't create separation, where else do you go if you're Sen. Reid at this point?
