AROUND TOWN: Eat lunch, hear free music

Take a break during the lunch hour from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 16 with a free performance of Brass Roots at the Lloyd D. George U.S. Courthouse, 333 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Brass Roots is led by Walt Boenig, who played trombone with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Harry James Orchestra. He is joined by Rocky Lombardo and Tony Scodwell on trumpet, Doug Beaslet on French horn and Dan Uhrich on tuba.

Those interested in attending the performance are welcome to bring lunch and sit at the tables in the jury selection room. The performance is part of the Downtown Cultural Series. For more performances, call 229-4614.
