AROUND TOWN: Get your cannoli fix at San Gennaro Feast
September 8, 2008 - 9:33 am
In September, when the weather shifts from blazing to darn fine, a slew of festivals and fairs crop up nearly every weekend. This week, it’s the San Gennaro Feast, which combines elements of an ethnic food festival, live entertainment, swap meet-like commerce and traveling carnival rides. It’s always worth a visit when it comes around, even if it’s only to get your fried dough and cannoli fix.
The festival takes place twice a year now. Here’s a video of one of the rides from this spring.
Get your fill of Italian food at the San Gennaro Feast, Sept. 9 through 14 at the Grand Canyon Shopping Center, 4245 Grand Canyon Parkway. Entrance fees are $7 for adults and $6 for seniors. The hours are 4 to 11 p.m. Sept. 9 through 11; 4 p.m. to midnight Sept. 12; 11 a.m. to midnight Sept. 13 and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 14.
For more information, visit the San Gennaro Feast's Web site.
