AROUND TOWN: Hash House A Go Go presents burgers for charity

If you're looking for something a bit more adventurous than your average cheeseburger, take a trip to Hash House A Go Go, 6800 W. Sahara Ave., through May 25. Hash House A Go Go and Fox 5's "More!" anchors have teamed up to celebrate National Burger Month, with the anchors designing their own burgers.

Each of the three 1-pound burgers has two certified Angus beef patties with stuffing in between and comes with lettuce onion and tomato on a fresh bun. The burgers will be available for lunch or dinner, and the best-selling burger's creator will have all the proceeds from National Burger Month donated to the Best Buddies organization in his or her name. Best Buddies enhances the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-on-one friendships and integrated employment.

Jason Feinberg's Meowy-Wowy Burger comes stuffed with caramelized onions and classic barbecue sauce. Monica Jackson's Hot and Spicy Mama Monica Burger is stuffed with chipotle adobo and smoked cheddar cheese. Rachel Smith's It Ain't Easy Being Goat Cheesy burger is stuffed with jalapeno olive tapenade and ... you guessed it ... goat cheese. The burgers cost $9.95 each, with $2 from the sale of each going to Best Buddies.

Hash House A Go Go is open for breakfast and lunch daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday until 10 p.m. and Sunday until 2:30 p.m. For more information, call 804-4646 or visit www.hashhouseagogo.com.
