AROUND TOWN: Henderson vets invited to join others on memorial wall

Henderson will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 8 and will add names to the Henderson Veterans Memorial Wall, 240 Water St., adjacent to Henderson City Hall. The wall currently lists more than 1,500 names and the city is seeking additional names of Henderson residents who have served in the military.

The Wall has two panels: the deceased veterans panel memorializes deceased veterans who made Henderson home prior to 1980, and the Vietnam War panel honors those who were Henderson residents during their service in the Vietnam War.

Names potentially to be added to the wall must be submitted by Wednesday, Oct. 29, along with documentation * DD214 (service discharge papers) and proof of residency during time specified. To submit an application or for more information, contact Henderson City Clerk’s Office at 267-1415.
