AROUND TOWN: High School Musical moves from the big screen to the big rink

Got a kid or teen who can’t get enough Disney’s “High School Musical"?

No worries. For $18.50, you can catch the dancing, the music and all the drama of Troy, Gabriella and the gang on ice Jan. 7 through 11 at The Orleans, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.

Performances of the show, Disney on Ice: High School Musical, are at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7 and 8, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 9, at 11:30 a.m., 3:30 and 76:30 p.m. Jan. 10, and at 11:30 a.m., 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11.

Several of the ice show’s cast members were chosen from auditions held in Las Vegas about a year ago, including Brad Santer, who will play Troy, Kristen Treni as Sharpay, Steven Smith as Chad, Adam Loosely as Ryan and Hamida Ahmad as Taylor.

Tickets are $18.50, $21.50, $37.50 and $47.50. Opening night tickets start at $12. For ticket information, call The Orleans Box Office at 284-7777, or visit www.orleansarena.com.
