AROUND TOWN: Ladies golf free at charity event

Angel Park Golf Club, 100 S. Rampart Blvd., will host a Women’s Play Golf America Day from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 9 to help raise awareness for Par For The Cure, a nonprofit group dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research.

Free clinics and golf lessons will be led by UNLV PGA golf management students. Women of all ages and skill levels are welcome.

Lady duffers will learn about the swing, the rules of golf and golf etiquette. Afterward, a putting contest on Angel Park’s 18-hole putting green will wrap up the night. Soft drinks will be provided, and and all participants will leave with a goody bag.

Although the event is free, participants may make a $5 donation to Par For The Cure.
