AROUND TOWN: Nevada Marching Honor Band looking for members

Calling all musicians ages 13 to 21!

Recent high school graduates, homeschoolers, private school kids and public school students are invited to audition for the Southern Nevada Marching Honor Band from 1 to 4 p.m. on April 11 at Cheyenne High School, 3200 W. Alexander Road.

The Southern Nevada Marching Honor Band features a baton section, percussion team and a competitive color guard. Anyone ages 13 to 21 is welcome to audition. The band has aspirations of playing in the 2011 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena and has received a pre-approved application for the 2010 Olympics, pending submittal of a filmed application. Plus, anyone who makes it gets to work with the multi-talented Mr. Randy Warner.

The group also is looking for volunteers, in addition to both monetary and in-kind donations.

For more information, call Warner at 928-767-4895.
