AROUND TOWN: Save those Starbucks receipts for a cool treat later today

Don't throw away your Starbucks receipts. If you make a purchase anytime before 2 p.m. the receipt turns into cash, or what the coffee company calls a treat receipt.

The receipt is good for a cold grande beverage for only $2, if presented on the same day after 2 p.m. The discounted beverage could be a Frappuccino, an iced coffee, an iced tea or anything else cool.

All corporate Starbucks stores nationally are participating. Many stores inside casinos, book stores and supermarkets are not corporate stores. Check out www.starbucks.com to find participating stores. The treat receipt event will last until Sept. 9.
