AROUND TOWN: Take photos of Henderson trails for amateur photo contest

Have an eye for photography?

The city of Henderson is celebrating National Trails Day, to be held Oct. 3, with a display of photos of Henderson trails.

The display will be selected from entries into the City of Henderson Trails Photo Contest, which is going on now, with a deadline of Aug. 31. The winning photos will be displayed Oct. 3 at the Promenade at the Pavilion.

There are six categories to choose from: view from the trail with people, color; view from the trail without people, color; positive trail use, color; plant life along the trail, color; wildlife along the trail, color; and general trail photos, black and white.

Entries will be accepted in person at the Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St., until 9 p.m. on Aug. 31.
