Attention rural Nevada breakfast aficionados

Sitting down in my Las Vegas office to a K-cup Starbucks coffee in my now collector's item Maggie's coffee cup, I'm reminded to pass along to you an important tip for those who find themselves in Hawthorne, Nev., around breakfast time.

The completely acceptable breakfast joint once known as Maggie's closed it's doors this year, sad to say and much to the dismay of rural Nevada breakfast aficionados everywhere.

But good news, last week Cassie Dore re-opened at the location under the name The Refinery. The name is a tip of the hat to the old mining days in Nevada. It's open at 5:30 a.m. every day.

P.S. -- It's on Hawthorne's business district main drag. Can't miss it.

P.P.S. -- First day of business was June 15 with all profits going to a local girl battling cancer. Good karma for The Refinery is sure to follow.
