Auto show excitement revs up for Nov. 23-25

Automobile enthusiasts can fuel their passion for vehicles at the Motor Trend International Auto Show - Las Vegas, which will be held Nov. 23-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The auto show, designed as a destination to research, compare and try hundreds of new models on for size, features everything from hybrids and the hottest new coupes and crossovers to a DVD giveaway and appearances by Rock-It The Robot, Spider-Man and Captain America.

Among the all-new or redesigned vehicles that will make their auto show debuts are the Acura RDX, BMX M5, Buick Encore, Chevrolet Spark, Dodge Dart, Fiat 500 Abarth, Ford Fusion, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Kia Optima Hybrid, Lexus ES, Lincoln MKZ, Mazda CX-5, RAM 1500, Scion FR-S, Subaru XV Crosstrek, Toyota Prius c and Volkswagen CC.

For enthusiasts looking for something more upscale, the show has a large selection of luxury vehicles from BMW, Lexus, Lincoln and Acura. Also on tap is a display of Lamborghinis, courtesy of Lamborghini Las Vegas.

The auto show is the ideal place to try an assortment of vehicles on for size in a no-pressure, nonselling environment.

Auto show attendees interested in the newest models from Nissan will not only get to sit inside, they will be encouraged to take them for a spin at the Nissan NEXT Innovation Tour. Just outside the convention center doors, showgoers can get behind the wheels of 2013 models from Nissan, including the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and the fully electric Nissan Leaf.

Back by popular demand, the roving performer Rock-It The Robot returns to entertain attendees during the auto show. The 9-foot-tall Rock-It has a brightly lit, glossy blue and silver exterior and uses numerous voice and sound effects for communication. He also dances to popular music, lip syncs to vocals and performs the Electric Slide, clogging, hip-hop and his own Robo-boogie-get-down dancing. Performances are scheduled for 1, 3 and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Special promotions during the show include:

— Superheroes: On Family Day, Sunday, Nov. 25, there will be special appearances by two legendary comic book and movie superheroes, Spider-Man and Captain America, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Admission for children 12 and younger is free.

— "The Bourne Legacy" Blu-ray giveaway, Sunday, Nov. 25: Be one of the first 100 families to attend the auto show and receive a free Blu-ray redemption postcard for "The Bourne Legacy" when it hits stores Dec. 11. Limit one postcard per family while supplies last. Courtesy of Universal.

— Free subscription to Motor Trend magazine: Along with admission to the show, showgoers will receive a free one-year subscription to Motor Trend magazine, a $12 value, just for attending. Simply complete the subscription card at the auto show and receive the magazine directly in your mailbox, courtesy of the Southern Nevada Franchised New Car and Truck Dealers Association & Nevada Franchised Auto Dealers Association.

— Free Motor Trend Auto Shows app: Visit iTunes or Google Play to download the new Motor Trend Auto Show's free mobile App for the iPhone or Android. Use the App to buy tickets, map your route, view participating manufacturers and get vehicle information at a glance.

The Motor Trend International Auto Show - Las Vegas is presented by the Southern Nevada Franchised New Car and Truck Dealers Association & Nevada Franchised Auto Dealers Association and produced by Motor Trend Auto Shows, the nation's largest auto show producer and part of the Source Interlink Cos.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens 62 and older, military with identification and children 7 to 12. Children 6 and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. Attendees will receive a free one-year subscription to Motor Trend magazine with each online ticket order or box office purchase.

Parking is free in silver lots No. 3 and 4.
