Barnes named to Nevada Writers Hall of Fame

I guess I can’t call my friend Lee Barnes one of Southern Nevada’s best-kept secrets anymore now that he’s being inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame.
Barnes, a College of Southern Nevada instructor and author of an armload of good books, has consistently turned out intriguing stories of working people and war veterans. He’s sold some books and earned a living at the college, but he hasn’t won the acclaim he’s long deserved.
Perhaps now he’ll gain a wider audience for his work, which includes “Gunning for Ho,” “Dummy Up and Deal,” “The Lucky,” “Talk to Me, James Dean,” and “Minimal Damage, Stories of Veterans.”
Barnes’ ceremony is set for Nov. 12 at UNR.
