Bottled water, anyone?

If you believe a new report from some outfit called the "Environmental Working Group" Las Vegas serves up the third worst city drinking water in the country followed by Reno in the No. 5 spot and North Las Vegas in the No. 8 spot. Not sure how Henderson escaped the list, since we all pretty much sip from the same straw.

I'm never quite sure what to make of these lists. I pass it along to readers not necessarily for its science (I wouldn't have a clue) but for its political ramification. You can bet these kinds of stories will become political fodder in 2010. This one, for example, will be clipped out and put in some political ninja's file just in case Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman decides to run for governor. It could also negatively rub off on the Harry/Rory Reid campaign and any other incumbent in the vicinity.

You can trust the Complete Las Vegan on this. He is all knowing on these matters. You can also pass me the bottled water, please.

Cities with the worst water:

1. Pensacola, FL
2. Riverside, CA
3. Las Vegas, NV
4. Riverside County, CA
5. Reno, NV
6. Houston, TX
7. Omaha, NE
8. North Las Vegas, NV
9. San Diego, CA
10. Jacksonville, FL
