Buffalo transplants pick William Lyon’s Tramonto

Larry and Kathryn Puchala of Buffalo, N.Y. said they feel like they're on a permanent vacation now that they're retired and live at their new home at William Lyon Homes' Tramonto at Mountain Falls. The master-planned golf community is located in Pahrump, 45 miles west of the Strip.

The couple purchased Plan One, a 1,970-square-foot, single-story design with three bedrooms, up to three baths and three garage bays.

Larry Puchala is a retired railroad worker who enjoys blackjack and Kathryn Puchala is a retired school librarian. They share their new home with his mother, Evelyn Puchala.

"Mom has plenty of space. She has the front bedroom and bathroom all to herself," Larry Puchala said.

He said a large lot was a top priority. Their home has a backyard pool with waterfall and an extended covered patio.

The home includes a great room flanked by an island kitchen with family dining area on one side and a master suite on the other. Home buyers can opt for multiple fireplaces, a wet bar in the great room and bay window extensions in the master bedroom.

Tramonto offers four single-story floor plans ranging from 1,970 to 2,445 square feet. Homes include three-car garages and come with as many as four bedrooms and three baths. Buyers can choose from traditional or great room layouts. Based on floor plan, homes can be constructed with an optional den, office, master retreat, bonus room or secondary bedrooms suite. Prices start in the mid-$200,000s.

Homes come with interior laundries, walk-in closets, custom recessed lighting, designer-selected light fixtures and raised-panel interior doors with satin chrome levers. Selected plans feature a kitchen island workstation with expanded countertop seating. Master bath appointments include a garden tub, separate shower stall and cultured marble countertops. Some plans have sit-down vanities.

Model homes are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday when they open at noon. To visit, travel about 45 miles west on State Route 160 (Blue Diamond Road) past Interstate 15.
