Buyers extend praise for Sky Pointe
August 25, 2007 - 9:00 pm
Gloria and John Oliver have purchased several homes over the years. Consequently, they know what they want in a home and recognized it immediately when they visited a Pulte Homes condominium in the Sky Pointe neighborhood of northwest Las Vegas.
When the Olivers decided to shop around for their second condo home in Southern Nevada, the search took them across the Las Vegas Valley. That search ended abruptly when they saw Sky Pointe.
"We went from Henderson to the northwest and everywhere in between, looking at new and resale homes," Gloria Oliver said. "Sky Pointe was the one neighborhood that had the combination of features we were looking for. What we liked first of all was the floor plan. Out of all of the designs we saw, this one suited us perfectly."
Sky Pointe offers four floor plans, each named for its square footage. They range from 856 to 1,525 square feet and offer one to three bedrooms and one to three baths. Prices start from the $170,000s.
The Olivers' new home provides three bedrooms, which was a must for the couple, and a two-car garage, which was "an absolute necessity," they said.
Gloria Oliver said their new condominium gives them space for a computer room, another "absolute necessity," as well as a room for visitors.
"You know how it is in Las Vegas; you get a lot of guests," she said with a laugh. "Our place is usually called 'Hotel Oliver.'"
In addition, an oversized storage room has plenty of space for a freezer, allowing them to stock up on groceries.
"I have everything I need here," she said. "You can tell that Pulte gave a lot of thought to the overall design of these homes."
Community features at Sky Pointe include a swimming pool and spa area, sand volleyball court, barbecue area, landscaped grounds and gated access.
Pulte homes are constructed with Environments for Living building technology. The homes are 30 percent more energy-efficient than Energy Star-certified homes. With blown-in cellulose insulation and dual-pane, vinyl-framed low-e windows, homeowners benefit from decreased internal and external contaminants; increased indoor air quality; decreased heating and cooling usage; and increased comfort, durability, and tightness.
To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, and exit east. At the first stoplight, turn left on Sky Pointe Drive and proceed north to the condominium community, which will be on the right.
