Candidates interviewed on KNPR

Today and tomorrow, tune in to KNPR's "State of Nevada" radio show to hear R-J political writer Molly Ball interview Republican gubernatorial candidates.

Today at 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., the subject is former state Sen. Joe Heck. Hear what he thinks of the Iraq war and what winter sport he once competed in, along with his views on issues important to the state.

Friday at 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., it's North Las Vegas Mayor Mike Montandon. Hear why he thinks education is "a luxury" and banks should be allowed to fail as he outlines his reasons for running.

KNPR is at 88.9 FM in Las Vegas or online at knpr.org. "State of Nevada" is always worth a listen -- the Political Eye thanks regular host Dave Berns for the opportunity to be a part of this great show that's so important to Nevada's civic dialogue.
