Cedar Cove series like visiting home

  Reading an installment of Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove series is like visiting relatives back home. You get an update on everyone in town, plus a little more in-depth visit with the folks you’ve come specifically to see.
  In “92 Pacific Boulevard,” readers are catching up with Troy Davis, the sheriff of Cedar Cove. A widower, Troy had renewed a relationship with his high school sweetheart, Faith Beckwith — that is until his daughter Megan became upset with the idea. So since the big blowup, Troy and Faith have been steadfastly avoiding each other as much as possible. But when Faith’s house is broken into by vandals, it’s up to Troy to figure out who has targeted his sweetheart for what seems to be violent reasons.
  Meanwhile, Judge Olivia Griffin is still in the midst of her battle with cancer, and her best friend, Grace Harding, and her mother, Charlotte, are doing all they can to make sure Olivia is happy and comfortable.
  And readers are updated on the relationship between Mac Macafee and Mary Jo Wyse. Mary Jo has moved to Cedar Grove to start a new life for her and her new baby, Noelle, and Mac is just ecstatic. The bond the two established after he delivered Mary Jo’s baby is a tight one, but now they just need to work on the romantic side of things.
  My favorite part of visiting Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove is how easily you can just slip back into the lives of her characters, and the close-knit feeling of community that she imparts through her stories. “92 Pacific Boulevard” is the ninth book in the Cedar Cove series, and I, for one, look forward to many, many more.
