SNOWSHOE EVENT SCHEDULED
Camp Lee Canyon plans to host its fourth annual snow shoe event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 26 and 27 and Feb. 23 and 24.
The camp will provide snow shoes for the first 20 people to register.
The event costs $15, and participants can spend the night in heated, rustic group cabins and hike the Bristlecone Trail and Camp Lee Canyon .
A pancake breakfast is planned Sunday morning, but participants are responsible for their own food and bedding.

CITY OFFERS ONLINE FEATURE
TO APPLY FOR JOBS
Those looking to apply for a job with the city of Las Vegas are now able to submit their applications at lasvegasnevada.gov.
The new feature also includes email notifications of new openings.
Hourly and seasonal opportunities will be included on the site in January. The city will continue to accept job applications in person at Las Vegas City Hall, 495 S. Main St.
To accommodate those without computer access, the city plans to open an online application center in the human resources lobby in January at City Hall that will provide five computers for residents to search and apply for jobs .
CITY OF LAS VEGAS OFFERS GRANTS
Qualified non profit organizations can submit applications for funding allocated by the city of Las Vegas parks, recreation and neighborhood services departments.
The submission period opened Dec. 3, and applications are available at lasvegasnevada.gov. Available grants include Community Development Block Grants for public services, housing opportunities for people with AIDS and an emergency solutions grant.
Priority consideration and funding will be given to applications addressing homelessness; intervention services with a preference toward veterans with children; seniors with a focus on maintaining independence; people with special needs; and youth programs with a focus on academic skills and early childhood development.
