GOLF TOURNAMENT TO SUPPORT
CHEFS FOR KIDS PROGRAM
The second annual Chefs for Kids charity golf tournament is planned for Oct. 21 at the Painted Desert Golf Club, 5555 Painted Mirage Road, with a shotgun start set for 8 a.m.
The deadline to register is Oct. 17, and registration is $120 per player. The price includes greens fees, a cart, range balls, snacks, a team photo and a luncheon. Awards for the winning team, the longest drive and the closest to the pin on a par-3 hole will be presented. The tournament format is a four-person scramble.
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension's nonprofit Chefs for Kids program is a joint effort of the American Culinary Federation Chefs of Las Vegas and the Cooperative Extension. Chefs for Kids seeks to eliminate malnutrition and hunger in children through education and awareness.

GRIEF CAMP TAKING APPLICATIONS
Applications are being accepted for Camp Solari, which offers a nurturing environment for children 6 to 17 and their surviving caregivers to learn to cope with grief. The next camp is planned for Oct. 12-14 at the Mount Charleston Lodge, 5375 Kyle Canyon Road.
All weekend activities, including art, music, talk therapy, drumming, dancing and nature walks, as well as lodging, meals and materials, are free to camp participants. Solari Hospice Foundation covers these costs through fundraisers and charitable donations.
