VOLUNTEER TRAIL HOSTS WANTED
DURING SUMMER ON MOUNT CHARLESTON

The U.S. Forest Service is looking for volunteer trail hosts this summer in the Mount Charleston area of the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.

Every weekend, hundreds of people flock to the mountains to hike around on the trails. Many times, they lack the knowledge of where to go, what they can do and how to be safe.

Trail hosts provide information along the trails, monitor trail conditions and greet fellow hikers. They also help visitors have a fun hiking experience while reducing impacts to the forest environment.

Those who are interested can attend an orientation scheduled at 7 p.m. today at REI in Henderson, 2220 Village Walk Drive, No. 150.

For more information, contact volunteer program development specialist Cody Dix at 702-515-5408. For more information on the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, visit gomtcharleston.com.
