WARD 6 FISHING DERBY SCHEDULED
JUNE 9 AT FLOYD LAMB PARK
Join Ward 6 Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross and the Department of Fish and Wildlife for a free fishing day at the Ward 6 Fishing Derby, planned for 7:30 a.m. June 9 at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road.

PROGRAM AIMED AT PERSONAL GROWTH FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED
Registration is open for New A.G.E., a program of activities and special events promoting individuality, self-esteem and independence, for those 22 or older with developmental disabilities.
The program is set for 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday through June 5 and June 11 through Aug. 17. There are no events July 4 and staff development days.
The fee is $21 for one to three days, $28 for four days and $35 for five days each week.
The program is set to be hosted at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive.

FISHING CLINIC PLANNED
FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED
The Project D.I.R.T. fishing clinic for those 22 or older with developmental disabilities is planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 2 at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road.
Advance registration is required.
The fee is $2 per person.

TURTLE ROCK HOA MEETING
Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross of Ward 6 is scheduled to attend a Turtle Rock Homeowners Association meeting set for 6 p.m. Thursday at 6628 Sky Pointe Drive, Suite 290.

May 31 is the last day to donate non perishable food and hygiene and toiletry items to be distributed to area veterans by the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive .

CHURCH TO HOST FREE FOOD PANTRY EVENT EACH SATURDAY MORNING
Truth Christian Ministries International, a nondenominational worship center, is to host a free food pantry from 9-11 a.m. each Saturday at 5101 N. Rainbow Blvd.
Food, diapers, clothing and health-care products are to be offered to needy individuals. Appointments are required. Donations are also accepted.

SOUTHERN NEVADA HEALTH DISTRICT
CLOSES MAIN FACILITY
The Southern Nevada Health District has suspended operations at its main facility, 625 Shadow Lane, as a result of an engineering report that found that the main building lacks an internal support system and may be unsafe to occupy.
Services provided in the outlying buildings on the campus are not affected, and services will continue to be available at public health centers in East Las Vegas, Henderson, the Cambridge Community Outreach Center and at service sites throughout the valley. Updated information on service availability is available at southernnevadahealthdistrict.org or by calling 759-4636 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Services that have been temporarily suspended include food and pool plan review; individual sewage disposal system plan review; loan certifications for private water supplies and sewage disposal systems plan review; and parcel maps plan review.
The health district is anticipating that these suspended services will be operational soon.
