Mount CHARLESTON Seeks
Trail volunteers
The U.S. Forest Service is looking for volunteer trail hosts this summer in the Mount Charleston area of the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
Many times, hikers lack the knowledge of where to go, what they can do and how to be safe. Trail hosts provide information along the trails, monitor trail conditions and greet fellow hikers. Trail hosts also help visitors have a fun hiking experience while reducing impacts to the forest environment.
Those who are interested can attend the first of two trail host volunteer orientations, set for begin 7 p.m. today at REI in Henderson at 2220 Village Walk Drive, No. 150. A second orientation is scheduled May 7 at the same time and location. For more information, contact volunteer program development specialist Cody Dix at 702-515-5408.
