CENTENNIAL HILLS RESIDENT'S FRESH & EASY ARTWORK AVAILABLE ON REUSABLE BAGS
The hand-painted, award-winning design for a new reusable Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market bag by Centennial Hills resident Tonya Jacobsen is now available for purchase in stores.
Jacobsen beat out about 800 other entrees for the second annual Design-A-Bag contest last spring with her painting of fresh fruits and vegetables. She received a year's worth of free groceries, a $5,000 value, for winning the contest.
The limited-edition bag retails for 99 cents.

RECYCLING PROGRAM TO COLLECT CHRISTMAS TREES FOR MULCH
Residents can recycle their Christmas trees and help create mulch used to beautify and sustain local public gardens and parks.
There are 20 drop sites around the valley accepting trees free of charge from Monday through Jan. 15.
Centennial Hills donation sites include the NV Division of Forestry Nursery in Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road, and Sunny Springs Park, 7620 Golden Talon Ave.
Donations are to be free of nonorganic objects such as lights, wire, tinsel, ornaments and nails. Flocked trees cannot be recycled.
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension works with other community organizations to host the recycling event.
The trees' organic material is chipped into mulch, which helps conserve soil moisture and keeps plants healthy.
Last year, Southern Nevada residents recycled more than 15,000 trees, which created 130 tons of mulch for landscaping projects at local parks.
