Centex to start Horizon Park sales

Centex Homes is beginning sales at its Horizon Park community in North Las Vegas with grand opening festivities planned from noon to 3 p.m. today.

Las Vegas 51s mascot "Cosmo" will make an appearance while visitors tour models and register for the chance to win 51s baseball tickets and a Target shopping spree. Refreshments will include free wraps, sandwiches and smoothies.

Horizon Park offers 11 floor plans in Skydance, Wind Song and Whistling Breeze neighborhoods.

Prices range from the upper $200,000s to the low $300,000s. Homes planned for August, September and October closings are now available, according to sales executive Marlo Lasko.

"With the wide variety of home designs and three phases to choose from, buyers have options galore," Lasko said. "There's been an incredible buzz about Horizon Park since we opened for presales."

According to Lasko, area amenities include the 11-acre Desert Horizons Park, new schools, commute routes, retail plazas and family dining choices.

"The Silver Mesa Recreation Center is just down the road," Lasko said, "giving residents access to fitness amenities, sparkling pools, training classes and workshops."

Additional activities offered by the facility are free movie night, picnics and recreational opportunities.

Starting in the upper $200,000s, Horizon Park's Skydance neighborhood features single-story homes ranging from 1,664 to 2,757 square fee.

Four floor plans are available with layouts of up to five bedrooms and two baths or four bedrooms with three baths.

Some home floor plans offer a great room, courtyard entry, loft and options for a den or owner's retreat. Each design includes a three-car garage.

Three two-story floor plans are available at Wind Song. Home designs measure 2,294 to 2,945 square feet with as many as six bedrooms and four baths.

Every plan includes a three-car garage, multiple living areas and second-floor master suite. Some plans have a super family room, teen room or bunkroom.

Home buyers can opt for a den, loft, retreat and balcony with a spiral staircase, based on home design. Homes are priced from the low $300,000s.

Whistling Breeze offers four two-story floor plans from 2,458 to 3,807 square feet with up to six bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths.

Some layouts include a bonus room and living room with volume ceiling. Options, based on floor plan, allow for a guest suite, studio, courtyard, bunkroom, den, sitting room or second owner's suite.

Prices start in the low $300,000s.

Maple cabinets are standard to each design with granite countertops available.

Cable and telephone connections in all bedrooms are among the included features. Homes come with the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star seal of approval on home sites measuring 6,000 square feet.

"Our design studio is conveniently located down the road. Buyers will enjoy time with design consultants who are excellent at coordinating color choices and interior features," Lasko said.

Model homes are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday, when they open at noon.

To visit, take Interstate 215, Las Vegas Beltway, to Aliante Parkway. Exit south on Aliante Parkway, which turns into Simmons Street. Proceed on Simmons to Alexander Road and the community.

From Interstate 15, exit Craig Road west to Simmons, then turn south to Alexander.
