Chicagoans pick Solera at Anthem

Nancy and Terry DeMatteo said they used to come to Las Vegas frequently for vacations and to escape the cold of Chicago. Actually living in Southern Nevada never occurred to them until they visited a friend who had moved to Del Webb's Sun City Anthem age-qualified community in Henderson.

"When we saw their home and Sun City, I thought, 'This is really nice,'" Nancy DeMatteo said.

"My friend said 'Let me go take you to look at the models down at Solera at Anthem,' but I did not have time. As soon as we got home though, I went online and took a virtual tour of Solera."

Suddenly, the idea of living in Southern Nevada did not seem so strange.

In fact, DeMatteo and her husband began thinking about it all the time.

Ultimately, they made the move, purchasing a Clark floor plan in the Henderson community, even before selling their Chicago home.

"I like the whole design of our new home. I like that it has three bedrooms, a nice open kitchen and everything else about the floor plan," she said. "It is perfect for us."

The Clark design is a three-bedroom, two-bath home with 1,251 square feet.

A total of five floor plans are available within Solera at Anthem, ranging from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet. Each home offers two or three bedrooms and two baths. Prices start from the mid-$200,000s.

"It is just beautiful here. We are surrounded by mountains and almost every evening we sit on our patio and watch the sun set behind the western," Nancy DeMatteo said.

To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway to Eastern Avenue, go south, past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway and turn left. Proceed on Anthem past the fire station, turn left on Somersworth Drive and follow the signs to the model complex.

The sales office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Wednesday when it opens at noon.
