Josh "Chop" Towbin, co-owner of Towbin Dodge and general manager of Towbin Infiniti, recently appeared on an episode of "Dr. Phil" titled, "How to negotiate anything."
The show, which aired Wednesday on KVBC Channel 3 at 3 p.m., focused on the art of negotiation and specifically on the differences in how men and women negotiate. The show was taped at Towbin Dodge in Henderson and showcased Towbin negotiating first with a woman looking to buy a 2010 Dodge Nitro, and then with a man checking out a SRT8 Dodge Charger Super Bee. After each negotiation, Towbin was asked to analyze the shopper's method, citing what he thought worked and what did not.
"Negotiations can be fun," Towbin said. "At Towbin Dodge we are about relationships and long-term customers, so we strive to make the negotiation experience simple and stress-free. Both clients walked away happy with their new car."
After the taping at Towbin Dodge, Towbin flew to Los Angeles to meet with Dr. Phil McGraw, where he was asked to assist a guest on the show who hated negotiating. To ease her shopping experience, Towbin provided her with tips, such as telling her to tone down her excitement about the car in front of a salesperson. At the end of the show, Towbin Dodge and the Chrysler Corp. presented her with a big surprise that totally shocked her -- a brand-new fully loaded Dodge Journey.
"Overall this was a great experience," said Towbin. "I was able to share the tips of the trade with everyone to make them comfortable when they buy their next car. I also enjoyed the fantastic opportunity to show America why Towbin Dodge continues to be No. 1 in the nation."
Towbin has been named the No. 1 single-point used-car dealer in the nation and the No. 1 certified dealer in the nation for Chrysler Corp. Towbin Automotive group owns and operates Dodge, Infiniti, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, smart car and Vespa-Piaggio.
