Chop to host culinary arts event for charity
March 27, 2009 - 9:00 pm
Josh "Chop" Towbin will serve as the master of ceremonies for the "fill the food bank" fundraising portion of "Dish Las Vegas," a first-time Three Square fundraiser at Springs Preserve that will bring celebrity chefs and entertainers together for a culinary arts adventure on April 3. Chop will be on stage throughout the evening, encouraging audience members to donate much-needed supplies to stock the shelves of Three Square's new facility.
Chefs Kerry Simon, Rick Moonen and Rock Harper as well as event host David Arquette, Clint Holmes, Susan Anton, Louie Anderson and Carrot Top will provide gourmet foods, wines and entertainment at the event. "Dish" will include flair bartending, a demonstration kitchen hosted by Chef Peter J. Sherlock in the Springs Café by Wolfgang Puck, chef meet-and-greet stations and live music and entertainment. In addition to the spectacular food component, the event includes the "Signature Dish," a silent auction featuring plates and chef's culinary tools of the trade.
"My hope is to raise lots of money for people who need it most," said Towbin. "Hunger is a growing problem in our community that we can't ignore. Filling our food bank means filling the empty stomachs of those suffering from too little to eat."
