Chrysler 200 debuts at Chapman

The first models of Chrysler's latest midsize sedan, the 2011 200, have arrived in Southern Nevada at both Chapman dealership locations: Chapman Chrysler Jeep in the Valley Automall in Henderson and Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep on East Sahara Avenue and Mojave Road in Las Vegas.

New exterior styling with clean surfaces and sleek lines give the 200 a sophisticated style while interior upgrades improve its comfort and appearance. Headlights with bifunctional halogen projectors with LED accents and available 17-inch alloy aluminum wheels enhance its look.

Gauges and controls are arranged for easy reach, including audio controls mounted on the steering wheel. Black and metallic accents, LED interior ambient lighting and an analog clock set in the new soft-touch dash create an elegant appearance. The infotainment system includes an available 6.5 inch touch-screen with Garmin navigation software, Bluetooth audio streaming and the UConnect Hands-free system.

"With all the sleek exterior upgrades and updated interior technology, the 200 creates an uncommon driving experience that has been extremely well received by customers and reviewers alike," Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep General Manager Don Hamrick said.

Under the hood, basic models come standard with a four-cylinder, four-speed automatic transmission, while upper-level sedans have a V-6, six-speed transmission that can generate 283 horsepower. The suspension and steering have also been modified to improve ride and handling.

Gas mileage estimates are 20 mpg in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway.

Most importantly for a midsized family sedan, the Chrysler 200 safety features include front, first row, side seat and curtain air bags, anti-whiplash front head restraints, electronic stability control and traction control.
