CityMark Development brings experience in urban design to downtown’s Juhl
June 9, 2007 - 9:00 pm
CityMark Development has been constructing mixed-use residential developments in San Diego for nearly a decade as the city entered its renaissance as a revitalized urban center, according to John Eisele, sales manager at CityMark's new Las Vegas development, juhl.
The revival of that city's Gaslamp Quarter resulted in a dining and entertainment hub that has become a model for a coummunity's willingness to invest in its downtown, according to Eisele.
During the past two years, CityMark has seen the sellout of M2i and Fahrenheit in San Diego's new Ballpark District and The Egyptian in Hillcrest. The company's development, Aperture, is selling in San Diego's historic Little Italy, with home buyers anticipating fall move-ins.
As a company dedicated to supporting urban redevelopment efforts, Eisele said, CityMark has seized the opportunity to bring its design and commercial experience to downtown Las Vegas.
Located at the corner of Bonneville Avenue and Fourth Street, the project, which is under construction, is a few blocks away from the Fremont Street Experience and the adjacent Fremont East District.
According to Eisele, home shoppers have done their homework and are keenly aware of CityMark's San Diego reputation.
"We have people going to CityMark's Sales Studio in San Diego, where Aperture sales are underway, then they'll come to the juhl Information Studio when they visit Las Vegas," Eisele said. "They know CityMark's reputation and have seen some of the company's completed San Diego buildings and to them it makes perfect sense to purchase a residence from a developer of this stature in the heart of both of these dynamic cities. Juhl buyers tell me how impressed they are to learn of CityMark's impressive track record. This is a builder that really walks the talk."
Prices start from the high $300,000s for one- and two-bedroom floor plans, encompassing warehouse lofts, mid-rise and high-rise lofts, townhouses, flats and penthouses. Home interiors range from 713 to 1,728 square feet.
The units have exposed mechanicals, concrete surfaces and floor-to-ceiling windows. The kitchens feature maple cabinetry, stainless steel GE appliances, granite slab countertops and island counters. The units also offer high-speed Internet access, energy-efficient air conditioning and forced-air heating and private patios or balconies.
Construction on the high-rise component of juhl has reached the 14th floor. Eisele said sales have reached the 70 percent mark. Move-ins are scheduled for spring 2008.
Juhl will have its own 24,000-square-foot ground-floor retail space. Additionally, residents will have use of a rooftop courtyard with a 75-foot pool and bubbling spa, equipped two-story fitness center, gated underground parking and 24-hour security.
