CNN poll finds Nevada Senate race a toss up
October 6, 2010 - 5:30 pm
A CNN/Time Poll released today is the latest that shows the Nevada Senate race in a statistical deadlock.
The poll has Republican challenger Sharron Angle ahead by two percentage points over incumbent Sen. Harry Reid among likely voters, a gap that falls well within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
With early voting to commence on Oct. 16, most recent polls have shown the race deadlocked between the Senate majority leader and his tea party-backed challenger.
Here's the story, with a link to the poll.
The 789 likely voters who participated in the poll were asked about the Senate race two ways -- with or without Tea Party of Nevada candidate Scott Ashjian. The actual Nov. 2 ballot will include several more candidates.
In the three-way match, which also included Nevada's none-of-the-above option, Angle was backed by 42 percent, Reid 40 percent, Ashjian 7 percent, and none-of-the-above 10 percent.
In the head-to-head match, Angle got 47 percent and Reid 45 percent. “None-of-the-above” dropped to 7 percent.
