Coach waiting to decide on starter for Saturday’s game

UNLV football coach Bobby Hauck said he would see how practice plays out this week before deciding on a starter for Saturday's game at Utah.
And even then, Hauck said he might not announce who wins out between senior Omar Clayton and junior Mike Clausen to keep the Utes guessing. Both, Hauck said, probably will play.
Clausen started Saturday's season-opening 41-21 loss to Wisconsin, and struggled behind poor protection. He completed 4 of 10 passes for 23 yards and a touchdown, and was sacked three times. Clayton, UNLV's starter before this season, was 6 of 16 for 82 yards and a touchdown, and he rushed for a team-high 59 yards.
"It's not all on the quarterback," Hauck said today. "It's a team game, and 11 players need to do their job in order to move the ball, and we didn't do that well enough."
