Construction of Terminal Three at McCarran a go after Ensign intervenes

Sen. John Ensign's office sent out this statement late Friday, stating Ensign held up a Transportation Security Administration department appointment in order to overcome a bureaucratic impasse that was holding up progress on construction of Terminal Three at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

“In the United States Senate, one senator can truly hold things up,” Ensign said in the statement.  “The Las Vegas economy needs every advantage possible, and the construction of Terminal 3 is a big part of how we move toward a recovery.”

And the statement described what Ensign did: "Ensign placed a hold on a Transportation Security Administration nominee when the agency failed to come to an agreement with McCarran officials over the number of Explosive Detection System (EDS) machines needed in the new terminal.  McCarran officials received a letter from the TSA today informing them the issue was favorably resolved."
