Couple chooses Energy Star residence
After learning about the benefits of owning an Energy Star home, environmentally conscious homeowners William and Freda Cobb insisted on purchasing one. They found a suitable residence within Avante Homes' Mesa Verde community in Henderson.
"We chose an Energy Star home because we are concerned about the environment and were impressed with the savings in both energy consumption and utility costs," William Cobb said.

Energy Star, the U.S. government-approved symbol for energy efficiency, was created by the EPA originally for energy-conserving computers in 1992 and is now jointly implemented with the U.S. Department of Energy. The program has been expanded to include more than 40 product categories that conserve energy, from appliances, electronics, lighting, windows and office products to entire homes and even mortgages.
