Couple find retirement in Mira Villa

A longtime Las Vegas-area couple, Pete and Karla, unknowingly toured their future home in March. They weren't looking to move or seeking a new home, but rather were simply exploring a new condominium development. However, they quickly decided to move from their family home of 16 years to embark upon a new chapter in their lives living at Mira Villa, the luxury condominium community in Summerlin.

"We really hadn't considered moving, though we are soon to be empty-nesters with children out of college and our youngest with a few years until college graduation," Pete said. "We came to Mira Villa really just to check it out, but immediately I was captivated by the views."

Within 30 days of their initial visit, Pete and Karla were in the process of buying their new home. The significant personal challenge would be walking away from their large single-family home, the one where they had raised their children and had years of memories.

"Mira Villa felt like it could be our home from the very beginning, and the more we visited and brought family and friends to see it, the more like home it felt," Karla said. "Personally, one of my biggest hurdles was leaving all those memories and belongings that we'd collected, partially because I felt that I owed it to my children to maintain the home that they grew up in for holidays and family get-togethers. Receiving their buy-in, and seeing their excitement about Mira Villa made it much easier to move forward with this new chapter in our lives."

Pete and Karla officially closed escrow in April and are set to move into their home in June.

"We can't compare this new condominium lifestyle to living in our old house," Pete said. "It's totally different. We look forward to more carefree travel, not concerning ourselves with the upkeep of a yard or pool. That's all taken care of. We have more time to focus on family, creating new memories and pursuing our interests."
