Couple find their way to Solera at Anthem
July 14, 2007 - 9:00 pm
The only reason John and Becky Linford came to Solera at Anthem was to visit their daughter-in-law, who works in the sales office. Once they arrived at the age-qualified community, however, the 19-year residents of Southern Nevada liked what they saw.
"We came here and looked at the homes because our daughter-in-law works at the sales office. We just wanted to see what she was selling," Becky Linford said. "We were not even planning on moving, but once we saw the Whitney model, we loved it and the area so much, we bought our home here the following week."
They selected the Whitney floor plan that features two bedrooms, den and two baths in 1,591 square feet. It is priced from $309,990.
"There are also lots of windows, especially across the back of the home. It just feels so open," she said.
Every week, they came out to look at the progress on their new home. They also explored the community amenities, which include a community center with an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool and rooms for social activities.
Home are constructed with Environments for Living building technology.
"That was a big draw," she said of the energy-efficient features. "So far, our utility bills have been a fraction of what we used to pay. Also, the home is comfortable. It is always an even temperature all through the house."
Five floor plans range from 1,140 to 1,771 square feet. Each home offers two or three bedrooms and two baths. Prices start from the mid-$200,000s.
To visit, take Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Eastern Avenue, go south, past St. Rose Parkway, to Anthem Parkway and turn left. Proceed on Anthem past the fire station, turn left on Somersworth Drive and follow the signs to the model complex.
Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Wednesday when the sales pavilion opens at noon. For more information, call 207-1400 or visit delwebb.com.
