Couple finds cosmopolitan appeal at Monterey condos

Branibor and Frances Taylor-Radonic chose a unit at Monterey at Las Vegas Country Club, finding the development's atmosphere to their liking.

"We met in Opatija, Croatia," said Frances Taylor-Radonic, a fashion stylist and interior designer with a background in the medical profession.

"It's in the middle of the Adriatic Sea, near my home in Croatia. Very warm, very beautiful. Very much like Monte Carlo," said Branibor Taylor-Radonic, a former professor of economics who looks forward to parlaying his gift with numbers into a position as a dealer in one of the luxury hotels not far from the couple's condominium.

"That's very much the feel of Monterey. It is what brought us here. We like the greenery and how close we are not only to the shopping on the Strip, but also to the neighborhood shops for groceries, going to the post office and the bank. And we are not far from the university," he said.

The couple's 1,100-square-foot Augusta I floor plan opens onto an upgraded tile foyer leading to the living room. A galley kitchen with bar seating, granite counters and stainless-steel appliances overlooks the separate dining area.

The residence is situated on the golf course with views of the fairways and sparkling water features at the complex.

"We're living a resort lifestyle. We dine and go out for entertainment just moments away on the Strip, and when we're at home we can exercise along the walking trails or in the residents' gym. All year long, we can swim or go to the Jacuzzi," Frances Taylor-Radonic said. "We're in beautiful, peaceful surroundings."

Monterey features first- and second-floor condominiums, many located along the golf course. Floor plans measure up to 900 square feet in one-bedroom layouts, with two-bedroom layouts measuring up to 1,700 square feet. Architectural highlights may include a private patio or balcony, oversized walk-in closet, formal entry, built-in bookshelves or floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

Private patios and balconies, some situated poolside and others along shaded fairways, incorporate outdoor leisure with indoor living areas.

Landscaping, picnic areas with gas barbecue stations, five pools and a hydro massage spa are exterior amenities.

The community has 24-hour gated access with uniformed patrol. Prices start in the $160,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 15 and exit Sahara Avenue east, turn right on Paradise Road and left on Karen Avenue. Enter the development through the Las Vegas Country Club gate on Karen Avenue, located between Paradise and Maryland Parkway. The sales center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
