Couple finds home at Mandolin

Jeremy and Christiane Schwimmer said they moved to Las Vegas three years ago from Northern California in search of an affordable home and a new city in which they could begin their life together.

They purchased Warmington Homes Nevada's Plan Four in Mandolin at Mountain's Edge, in the southwestern valley. The Schwimmers moved into their new home in July.

"We essentially looked at all of the available homes in Mountain's Edge and what we found at Mandolin was the best overall home at the most affordable price," Jeremy Schwimmer said. "Warmington includes so many upgrades as standard features that you feel as if you have just spent a great deal of money -- but haven't really because everything is included."

Included in the purchase price of their home were mini-blinds on most windows and vertical blinds on sliding glass doors, Whirlpool full-size washer and gas dryer and built-in Whirlpool refrigerator.

Additionally, the Schwimmers' new home, like all homes at Mandolin, features beech cabinetry with adjustable upper shelves and premium Whirlpool appliances, including a multi-cycle dishwasher, oven and slide-in range with sealed burners.

The homes include living and dining rooms, kitchens, walk-in closets, interior laundry areas with optional overhead storage cabinets and one or more covered patios, per plan. The homes include private rear yards as well as front yards with professionally designed and installed landscaping.

Energy-conserving amenities include specialized heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems and Milgard windows with low-emittance glass. The homes are certified by Energy Star and Comfortwise.

Prices start in the low $200,000s. Floor plans range from 1,277 to 1,657 square feet. Per plan, the homes incorporate three to four bedrooms, 21/2 baths and direct-access one- or two-car garages.

The Mandolin neighborhood features a private gated entry and a residents-only community pool and cabana.
