D.R. Horton breaks ground on Buffalo Ranch community

D. R. Horton, ranked America's No. builder for eight years in a row by Builder Magazine, has started construction on a new home community called Buffalo Ranch.

D. R. Horton-Las Vegas has more than 20 neighborhoods currently under construction and several more slated for spring and summer openings.

"When I speak to a group of real estate agents, and I tell them about Buffalo Ranch, the room gets quiet," said Brian Frabbiele, marketing director for D. R. Horton in Las Vegas. "Many area brokers have told me that they believe a recovery will be under way when builders begin moving dirt and naming streets again."

That type of construction has begun at Buffalo Ranch. This new planned community is presently planned to include four neighborhoods featuring 13 unique floor plans.

Driven by the popularity of the Buffalo Ranch location (Buffalo Drive between Tropicana Avenue and Peace Way), the builder opened a sales pavilion at 4485 S. Buffalo Drive, adjacent to the construction site, according to Frabbiele.

Prospective home buyers can get a visual presentation, site tour and will have the opportunity to purchase a home the same day. Fifteen families have already decided to make Buffalo Ranch their new home.

Buffalo Ranch's Crossings community features four floor plans that begin at $179,900.

One four-bedroom plan is designed to meet the needs of the busiest families, Frabbiele said. It also has a large master retreat.

Families needing a little more space will find homes of up to 4,400 square feet with options including as many as six bedrooms, Frabbiele said.

The builder has planned a grand opening event in early April when the Buffalo Ranch models will be unveiled.

In addition to Buffalo Ranch, D. R. Horton is opening five new communities to complement its current line of popular homes.

In the northwestern valley, the 8-in-1 Home Shop is a one-stop opportunity for real estate agents and clients to get information on eight area communities.

The 8-in-1 shop features D. R. Horton- Las Vegas' line of single family residences.

In the northwestern valley, The Legends community showcases homes larger than 5,100 square feet with lot sizes that will accommodate RV facilities and swimming pools.

The options vary, offering gated, non-gated, homeowners association communities or no HOA communities.

Those looking to settle in the southeastern valley or Henderson will find a variety of current and future communities.

St. Rose Court is located at St. Rose Parkway and Jefferies Street. This gated community, with a pool and sand volleyball court, is home to D. R. Horton's townhome product.

Ranging from 1,210 to 1,617 square feet, St. Rose Court floor plans are priced from $112,900.

All model homes are open daily until 5 p.m.. Visit www.drhorton.com/lasvegas or call the New Home Concierge at 702-501-6301 for directions.
