D.R. Horton releases 500 homes

D.R. Horton Homes, one of the largest new-home builders in the country, recently announced to the Las Vegas brokerage community the release of 500 completed homes.

Located in 40 neighborhoods throughout the Las Vegas Valley, these homes are available for immediate purchase and move-in.

"Our strategy is to be extremely aggressive in 2008," explains Jeff Ward, director of sales for D.R. Horton. "These 500 homes represent our commitment to Las Vegas and our confidence in the local real estate market this spring."

For more than 10 years, D.R. Horton has built single-story homes in the valley. Twenty-two of the builder's neighborhoods exclusively showcase single-story homes ranging from 1,000 to more than 5,000 square feet.

Especially popular are the ranch-style floor plans, featuring dual master bedrooms, according to Ward.

"More and more families find themselves housing multiple family generations," Ward said.

"Our 2350 and 2550 dual master floor plans have been a huge hit with families of grown children or those who have invited their parents to move-in."

The builder has recently lowered the sales price of the 2350 floor plan to below $140 per square foot in some valley locations.

Over the past seven years, D.R. Horton has unveiled townhome floor plans, referred to as triplexes.

Initially offered in D.R. Horton's San Diego communities, these models have become the valley's leader in affordability and livability, Ward said.

Featuring attached garages and amenity-rich communities including swimming pools, these floor plans are typically offered in D.R. Horton's Ranch communities.

The Horton Ranch's offer multiple model complexes with prices that begin in the mid-$100,000s.

Riverwalk Ranch in the northern part of the valley will be the Horton Ranch location for D.R. Horton's upcoming Super Buy Saturday party Jan. 26.

Themed around the big game, Super Buy Saturday will illuminate the entire array of the completed homes recently released for sale, and the unprecedented pricing now published on the builder's Web site, Ward said.

The event will feature food, skills contests, and a valleywide raffle worth thousands of dollars in prizes, he said.

Football legend William "The Refrigerator" Perry will attend the event and be on hand to autograph memorabilia and take photographs with sports fans.
