Dean Heller no longer has a problem…..
Problem solved. The workmen showed up early this morning and somehow finagled that oversized bull elk trophy mount into Rep. Dean Heller's office.
The piece is now out of the Cannon Building hallway, where it drew attention Wednesday from curious passersby.
"I don't know what they did but they got the job done," Heller aide Stewart Bybee said. There was no need for a taxidermist to perform surgery on the piece to get it to fit, he said.
A handful of lawmakers display hunting trophies in their offices, most notably Rep. Don Young of Alaska, whose office has been nicknamed the Pet Cemetery for the number of dead animals up on the walls.
The bull elk, which Heller brought down in Lincoln County on a 1996 hunting trip, will be put up near his desk in the next few days, Bybee said.
