Democrats showcase over-hyped Hispanic
September 5, 2012 - 10:30 am
When Democrats showcased San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro at last night's DNC, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who felt the certain something dripped from this so-called young rising Democrat Hispanic "star".
Pundits urged us to behold and witness the Democrat answer to Marco Rubio, the Republican Hispanic star. Castro is young, energetic and snarky.
Then the sun came up on Wednesday and that "certain something" turned out to be the oh-too-common-trait of phoniness.
Although Castro spouted out a few phrases in Spanish during his speech, it turns out that Casto does not speak Spanish at all.
In prepping to play a young rising Hispanic Democratic star, Castro hired Marta Bronstein to tutor him in Spanish. But he still doesn't quite have the hang of that foreign language as he admits "he doesn't really speak Spanish."
Of course that little fact somehow didn't make it into the prime-time commentary among liberal pundits who couldn't be bothered with research. Instead, they let Castro's speech come and go as if he were actually an up and coming Hispanic Democratic star.
Brother, what a phony.
