Dems call Ensign cash dirty money

It didn't take Democrats long to fan the flames of the latest Ensign allegation revelation into something they hope will scorch a few more Republicans.

After it was reported Tuesday that Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., was under investigation for alleged lobbying law infractions in the wake of his extramarital affair scandal, The Hill reported on Democrats seeking to pressure another Republican senator to give back money he got from Ensign.

Here's an excerpt: “With news out that John Ensign is now under investigation by the FBI, will admitted sinner David Vitter return the $15,000 Ensign gave to him?” said Deirdre Murphy, a spokeswoman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. “After admitting to a serious sin a few years ago, David Vitter ought to do the right thing, come clean, and return Ensign's money.”
